The Pope’s Visit to Vienna
On September 7th, 2007 the pope honored Vienna with a visit: 12:00 o’clock drive from the airport to Platz am Hof, transfer to the "popemobile" en route, 12:45pm arrival at Platz am Hof, prayer in front of the Mariensäule at Platz am Hof (words of greeting by the Holy Father), 1:30pm drive in the popemobile to Judenplatz, 1:35pm silent commemoration of Austrian victims of the Shoah at Judenplatz, 1:40pm drive from Judenplatz to the Apostolic Nunciature. The fans braved the bad weather and serenaded Him, no indeed ― not with “Singin’ in the Rain” ― but rather with “Jesus Christ Superstar.”
